What changed

6 changes. Each one has a reason.

Lead with the people

Before
Current first screen: oval logo, blue menu bar, the headline Trike & E-Trike Specialists and two photos of trike racks
After
New first screen: the headline Find your next favorite way to ride, next to a photo of John and his crew with the shop dog

What changed

Two photos of trike racks became one photo of John, his crew and the shop dog, with a friendly headline and a Come for a test ride button.

Why

People drive to a small shop for the people. Showing them first is the reason to visit instead of ordering online.

A header that points somewhere

Before
Current header: oval logo, a search box, Find Us, and a blue bar with six product menus
After
New header: the town square note and phone number in a blue strip, the logo, four links and a yellow Come see us button

What changed

Six product menus and a search box became four plain links and a Come see us button, with the phone number and the town square in a strip on top.

Why

Most visitors want to call, ride or find the shop. Those three things are now one tap away on every page.

Make the test ride the main event

New
Test ride section: a smiling rider on a recumbent trike beside The best way to choose? Take a ride, with three steps and a Call to plan your test ride button

What changed

Test rides lived on an article page. Now they have their own section on the homepage: three simple steps and a button to call and plan one.

Why

A trike is personal. Once someone has ridden one, they’re most of the way to buying it.

Show the workbench

New
Service section on navy: a mechanic working on a yellow trike at the shop bench beside We like to get our hands dirty and a Talk shop button with the phone number

What changed

Repairs were one item in the menu. Now they’re a section with a real photo of the bench, plain-spoken copy and the phone number on the button.

Why

Service brings people back year after year, including riders who bought somewhere else.

Put the town square on the map

New
Visit section: a photo of the shop front with an Open sign and a yellow sign with the address, hours and a Find your way here button

What changed

The address and hours were behind Find Us. Now the real storefront leads the visit section, with the address, hours and directions on a yellow shop sign.

Why

If people can picture the front door, they’re far more likely to walk through it.

Built for the phone in your pocket

Before
Current site on a phone: oval logo, search bar and photos of trike racks
After
New site on a phone: the town square strip, the logo, the headline and the crew photo

What changed

The new site is designed phone-first, with the phone number at the top and a short page that gets to the point.

Why

Riders look the shop up on their phone, often while they’re already out on the road.

Now they just text it.

The site is theirs: domain, code and content. When something changes at the business, they text Foreman™ and approve the preview.

We’re closed Thanksgiving and the Friday after.

Added a holiday hours note to the header and the visit sign. I’ll remove it Monday.

Here are photos from Saturday’s group ride.

Added them to the homepage rider snapshot, credited to the shop.
